Wolf (Canis lupus)

The wolf was one of the first animal that found it´s way to Sweden after the  ice age.

150 years ago the wolf was to be fond in the whole country. Due to intensive hunting in 1970 and long into 1980, the wolf was under threat of exterminationt. From 1966 the wolf is protected by law in Sweden.

Sice the middle of 1980 the wolf has increase in Sweden up to 100 animals today.

Belong to: Order Predator (Carnivora) Family Dog (Canidae)

Weight: Male about 45 kilo in Sweden. Female about 40 kilo in Sweden.

Age: Up to 16 years, but often just 10 - 12 yers

Heat:
Is about  63 days.

Wolf cub: The female give birth to betwen 2 - 8 cubs..
