Tourism’s share of Swedish exports in 2003 was larger than that of other important business, such as iron and steel, provisions, wood products and furniture. Tourism exports, i.e. what foreign visitors spent in Sweden, amounted to SEK47.3 billion in 2003 and is of the same magnitude as the value of Sweden’s export of cars.
